But our employees are also encouraged to explore the many modern apprenticeships that are becoming available too. Apprenticeships offer a great way to learn a whole new career or develop and stretch existing skills to complement an already established profession. After finishing college in July 2017, I joined Eurovia as a Business Admin Apprentice. Since then I have been involved in a whole range of different projects and pieces of work. Some of these included invoicing for the training team, researching eLearning courses, processing a payroll and maintaining an internal employee directory. Throughout the year as an apprentice I was given the opportunity to develop the following skills: Teamwork, communication, time management and organisation.
The apprentice scheme with Eurovia has provided me with a great starting block to my career and after the completion of my apprenticeship in September 2018 I then moved on to join the Payroll & Benefits team as a Payroll Administrator.

I joined Eurovia in February 2018, after nearly 10 years in a busy national charity press office.
Despite not having a background in highways or engineering, Eurovia UK has supported me and allowed me to build my experience and knowledge of the sector, but also professionally as I am currently undertaking an apprenticeship in Leadership & Management alongside my regular duties.
It's my job to share our successes and stories with our staff and the external media, so I'm always on the lookout for news on major projects, contract wins and trends within the highways and construction sectors, and spot opportunities to build Eurovia UK's reputation…and thankfully there are plenty of those at a company where innovative thinking is encouraged at all levels.
